Make It Funky!, the high definition feature length documentary is released. The film honors the people who wrote, played, and lived New Orleans music. New Orleans is the heart of American music and no other city can boast this musical legacy. Slaves and free people of color wrote music that “remembered” their past, defying racial and social barriers, and the results spread around the world influencing popular music in all its forms. In April 2004, performers from all walks came together to perform in an historic concert, following the course of New Orleans music. Extensive personal interviews interweave throughout performances, giving the music a voice, a face and a place. It is the story of New Orleans music - music that changed the world
