Michael Murphy Productions is honored to announce that “UP FROM THE STREETS, New Orleans: The City of Music” has been named a juried competition Gold winner in the Feature Documentary Film Category at The WorldFest- Houston International Film Festival.
Founded in 1968 as the International Film Society, The WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival became the 3rd competitive film festival in North America, following San Francisco and New York. It is considered to be the oldest independent and largest film festival in the world. The festival has 12 major competitions and 200 sub categories. In 2020 the festival received approximately 4500 submissions from filmmakers around the world. Former festival winners include Bryan De Palma, Jonathan Demme, John Frankenheimer, Charles Guggenheim, Steven Spielberg, John Sayles, Oliver Stone, George Lucas, John Lee Hancock, David Lynch, Ang Lee, the Coen Brothers.
